Materials are part of a textile’s story and for this scarf the story starts on a farm in Pennsylvania. The finest quality wool fleeces were chosen to blend with linen and silk and spun to yarn at a local mill. The result is a gorgeous yarn that is strong, shiny, and soft.
Woven Shibori is a process that involves weaving into the fabric ties that are used to bunch up the fabric when dyeing. The colors on this piece come from indigo, cochineal and clutch.
Handwoven wool front that has been sewn together with a woven cotton backing and zipper on one side. Remove the pillow insert for easy washing.
This item has been dyed with natural dyes. Due to the nature of natural dyes, some fading may occur over time or exposure to direct sunlight.
